SportsTalk 790 the Ticket
The Dan LeBatard Show with Stugotz airs every
weekday between 3 PM and 7 PM here on SportsTalk 790 the Ticket. One of the nation‘s
pre-eminent sports journalists, Dan LeBatard now adds the local
microphone to his powerful arsenal of tools as an afternoon host on 790
the Ticket. Dan built his reputation in South Florida
as an incisive writer and controversial columnist for The Miami Herald.
You can also see Dan on ESPN‘s “The Sports Reporters,” and “Pardon the
Interruption.” In addition, Dan is a regular contributor to ESPN the
Magazine, with cover stories featuring a wide variety of top sports
figures. Joining Dan is Jon Weiner, who may be better known in these
parts simply as “Stugotz.” Weiner brings an impressive resume from his
position behind the microphone, and he shares his strong sports
knowledge, opinions, and guidance to this fast-paced, in-your-face
program. For a local sports radio program in the Miami/Ft Lauderdale
area, the LeBatard Show books major luminaries in the world of sports
and entertainment, some of which have their own weekly show. If a major
event occurs in the world of sports and entertainment, it’s a sure bet
that LeBatard and Stugotz will be talking about it, usually with a guest
star who is close to the action. For example, the Florida Marlins
recently gained approval for the building of a new baseball-only
stadium, which will be built on what would be the former site of the
Miami Orange Bowl. The LeBatard Show has a weekly show with Marlins team
president David Samson. Wednesdays at 5
PM
is the place to be to hear about that and other Marlins news. Among some
of the big names that have made appearances on the show are comedian
Frank Caliendo, former Dallas Cowboy Michael Irvin, NBA commissioner
David Stern, hosts of Pardon the Interruption Michael Wilbon and Tony
Kornheiser, and many more.
